Bruliam Wines Virtual Tastings Calendar

I am so flattered and humbled by the success of the first two Bruliam Wines virtual tastings.  Thank you to everyone who has joined in to share a glass of wine with me.   If you missed our virtual chardonnay tasting on April 1, you can view that below (or click here if the video below doesn’t play).

Your ongoing support and TLC mean so much us.  Receiving your emails, notes, and drool-worthy dinner pictures is a bright apex as we shelter-in-place.  My mood lifts 10 notches when I see rolling waves or a beautifully prepared meal alongside a bottle of Bruliam (hello duck, risotto, & scallops).  Hopefully, sharing and preparing wine and food brings you calm, grace, and satisfaction.  You’ve probably all heard me say, or write, that “wine is the glue of humanity.”  And indeed, we are witnessing this truth every day.  Delivering joy through wine has never felt so meaningful.

Over the last few days, I’ve fielded multiple email inquiring about a formal schedule of tasting topics.  Many of you are asking to have the right wine(s) on hand for the right dates.  So, here’s my planned schedule.  All tastings will take place at 5pm PT (8pm ET) on the designated day and we will send out a reminder email with a Zoom link and password a few days before each tasting:

  • 4/8/20 - No Virtual Tasting

  • 4/15/20 Pinot Noir AVA Overview: Russian River Valley, Petaluma Gap, & Santa Lucia Highlands.  It’s All About Personality, Baby. (Webinar format)

  • 4/22/20 Rose Party- Bring a Bottle of Rose, and Let’s Chat Pink! (Interactive format)

  • 4/29/20 Rockpile Zinfandel – World’s Most Special Zinfandel AVA (Interactive format)

  • 5/6/20 Deep Dive into Soberanes Vineyard – What Makes SLH Pinots Sing? (Interactive format)

  • 5/13/20 Deconstructing Kerith’s Classic Contucci – Almond Biscotti + Late Harvest SB = Love (Webinar format)

If you’d like to purchase wine ahead of any of these tastings, now is a good time to do so before the weather starts to heat up.  Remember, you can order wine online here and if you send a gift pack of any four wines to friends or family, we’ll add 2 bottles of rose to top them up to a full 6-pack.

Please note that I’ve designated these upcoming tastings as webinar format vs. interactive format.   The webinars will be more of a sit back and learn style where I share pictures, maps, and slides.  You’ll be in listen-only mode the whole time.  The interactive format dates are just that – interactive.  We’ll go “Brady Bunch” style, and I expect to hear from all of you!   And for the April 15th “Rose Party”, please do not expect 40 minutes’ worth of rose material.  Rather than my talking AT you, I plan to sit back, sip my own glass of pink, and listen to you share your best wine, food, and/or Bruliam stories.  The rose party will be about sharing your own wine experiences and palate memories.  Lastly, over the years, I have answered innumerable questions about baking biscotti.  On 5/6, let’s bake them together.  I am hoping that my trusty sound engineer Brian can oversee a live video of my baking almond biscotti, from start to finish.  Of course, they are awesome dunked in the LHSB.  Bottling a stable dessert wine with residual sugar is significantly harder than baking biscotti.  You’ve got the easy job!

I’ve really enjoyed our last two virtual tastings, and I’m looking forward to refining them each week.  Hopefully this schedule will help you plan and prepare (and order wine if you’re running low)!

Be well,  Stay well, Drink well.
